Wilde is thrilled to announce Per Barclay’s fourth solo exhibition with the gallery and his first in Basel, presenting never-before-seen photographs and sculptures, as well as a site-specific installation.

Per Barclay (*1955 in Oslo, Norway) has been known for his exploration of space throughout his career. From his notable presentation at the Nordic Pavilion during the 44th Venice Biennale in 1990 to his participation in significant global exhibitions, Barclay has skillfully engaged with various neglected settings, valuing and commemorating their inherent allure. His sculptures and installations embody the essence of space, incorporating elements such as ladders and windows, as they delve into the concept of spatial exploration, bridging the gap between the present and the distant, the tangible and the imperceptible.
