Basel Social Club returns June 15−21, 2025, for its fourth edition, inhabiting a historic townhouse in the heart of Grossbasel. A former private bank with over 100 rooms, this unique setting becomes the stage for the week-long event. Basel Social Club is the first to open the doors of these historic premises to the public, marking the beginning of the building’s activation by FOR ART, a long-term project by Klaus Littmann to revitalize the vacant property on Rittergasse through artistic and cultural interventions until the end of 2028.

The curation of works at Basel Social Club takes its cue from the historic significance of the venue and responds thematically to systems of value, commerce, and exchange, unfolding into a living cabinet of curiosities where distinctions blur between currency and care, luxury and necessity, spectacle and service. Rooms are transformed into themed experiences devoted to jewellery, chess, or healing. With roles played equally by artists and attendants, the artistic programming is guided by a curatorial ethos rooted in collaboration, artistic freedom, and community engagement.

What began as a one-off gathering has evolved into a non-profit platform that resists convention and embraces experimentation. As always, Basel Social Club remains free and open to all.
