Die Bande Performing The White Cube Hotel

14. – 19. Juni 2016

Die Bande was formed as an art collective in 2015 and consists of Marc Norbert Hörler, Lea Rüegg, Yanik Soland and Fidel Stadelmann. In the past six months, Die Bande was experimenting with the social form of a gang.

In their upcoming show at Ausstellungsraum Klingental with the title Die Bande performing The White Cube Hotel, they decided to create a functional hotel space within the exhibition premises using simple tents and other makeshift forms of infrastructure.

The classical white cube is transformed into a sphere of living and sleeping during the night as well as in the morning and evening hours. The hotel guests will be guarded during the night by one of the members of Die Bande. Furthermore, they want to address the white cube as a space that creates promises not only in the art world, but also in contemporary forms of lifestyle influencing the privacy of each individual.

The spectator will encounter a space filled with seemingly functional objects of the daily hotel routine. These objects create a narrative that cannot be verified, which lets the space and the objects within oscillate between the evoked fictional narratives as well as the real offer placed on a public lodging platform.

Organised for Ausstellungsraum Klingental by Silas Heizmann and David Siepert.
