This exhibition is presented as part of a larger programme of ‚BASLER DOKUMENTARTAGE 19, it’s the Real Thing‘, co-hosted by Kaserne Basel, Theater Roxy and SALTS, Birsfelden.

Presenting new and older video works, the exhibition explores human vulnerability as a potential to represent, reveal, document, interfere. The embrace of liveliness and mortality is inscribed in this ability – as in the images that immortalize it: The camera creates the paradox of an illusion of eternity when it frames the body and turns it into an absent, deserted body, by coming to life through the visualisation.
