Juan Carlos Maldonado Art Collection

3841 NE 2nd Avenue | Miami | Art Region: Miami

Under the direction of Founder and Chairman, the Juan Carlos Maldonado Art Collection (JCMAC) focuses on the study and the recognition of Geometric Abstraction as a fundamental artistic language for the development of contemporary art history.

The core of the Collection focuses on modern art and traces the unfolding of geometric abstraction in Latin America, from the 1930s to 1970s. It also includes the works of European and North-American artists such as Josef Albers, Max Bill, Alexander Calder, Victor Vasarely, Francois Morellet and Kenneth Noland, among many others, whose interest in geometric planes, chromatic relations, optical and kinetic effects tend to elicit discourse in relation to the work of Latin American practitioners.

Our main mission is to increase cultural awareness and to stimulate the education and appreciation for the geometric abstract style, beyond nationalities, by making our collection of artworks and documents accessible to individuals and organizations for consultation, scholastic research, and loan.
